This Privacy Policy explains how PG Media Limited ("we", "us", "our") collects and handles personal data when you visit pgmedia-ltd.com or get in touch with us. Controller
What we collect and why
1. Visiting the website
When you visit this website, our hosting provider may automatically process technical information that is necessary to deliver the site to your browser, such as your IP address, the time of the request, the requested resource, the response status, your browser type and the referring URL. This data is processed on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in providing a stable and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the corresponding "purpose of use" under DPP 1 / DPP 3 of the PDPO).
We do not use website analytics, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social plug-ins on this site.
2. Contacting us by email
When you write to us — for example via [email protected] or by using the "Get in touch" links on this site, which open your own email client — we will process the information you provide (typically your name, email address, company and the content of your message) for the purpose of answering your enquiry and, where relevant, preparing a possible engagement. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
3. Engagements and client work
If we enter into a consulting or coaching engagement with you or your organisation, we will process the personal data necessary to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to comply with our legal and tax obligations in Hong Kong and, where applicable, in the EU (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Cookies
This website does not set any analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Strictly technical storage that is required for the site to function may be used. No consent banner is shown because no non-essential cookies are placed on your device.
Recipients and transfers
Personal data is accessed only by PG Media Limited and by carefully selected service providers acting on our instructions, including our hosting provider and our email provider. These providers may be located outside Hong Kong, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards under the GDPR (in particular Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR).
Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as required by law. Enquiry correspondence is typically retained for up to 24 months; contract-related records are retained in accordance with applicable statutory retention periods.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable law, you have the right to access your personal data, to request its correction, deletion or restriction of processing, to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and — under the GDPR — to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
Under the PDPO, you also have the right to request access to and correction of personal data we hold about you. A reasonable fee may be charged for complying with a data access request.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. If you are located in the EEA and believe that our processing infringes the GDPR, you may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is, however, fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the applicable law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
